However, the market is still dominated by well known heavy weights: Cry Engine, Frostbite, Source, unity, and Unreal.

Unreal which went free for version 4, earlier this year, at least for non gaming productions. A good opportunity to check it out again, and watch some technical demos. The Kite one is cute and poetic, here it is.
